You should never attempt to remove the batteries of disposable vapes by yourself.
There are some Material Recovery Facilities or Recycling Facilities that will accept disposable vapes. You will need to contact your local recycling centre to ask them whether they accept vaping products and if there are special instructions on how to deliver such products to be recycled.

A recycling trial was launched in NSW to help households dispose of problematic embedded batteries found in disposable vapes and other wireless household products.
